Miok came to America 1969 as a Graduate Student; she received her Doctorate of Education from University of Northern Colorado and has worked in the Insurance Industry for the past 40 years. Miok has taught Mission u studies for many years including: Climate Justice, Roma, Poverty, and other issues. She has served as a Be Just. Be Green. Western Jurisdictional Guide for the past 5 years.

Betty was born in California, earned a BA in Child Development with a Minor in Women’s Studies. She taught preschool in Bay Area for 30 years, and has been involved in local, District and Conference UMW for 15 years in many roles. Betty taught the children’s study on Haiti at Mission u. She has served as the Green Ministries Coordinator for California Nevada Conference for 4 years.
